TOP: traditional indigenous hand-embroidered cotton blouse with floral details. It is hand-sewed by using a method which is similar to the one used for the “China Poblana dress”, typical of the Mexican state of Puebla.
BOTTOM: peasant-style double circle skirt in satin brocade with floral details. With its horizontal pleats, it is a modern stylistic combination of the typical skirts from the Mexican state of Jalisco and the rabona skirts used by Tehuana women as a casual garment.
ACCESSORIES: floral headgear, and mantilla with frayed hems woven with traditional loom.
RELEVANT DETAILS: being particularly comfortable, the indigenous blouses from the Mexican states of Puebla, Guerrero, Chiapas, etc. were used by Frida as casual clothing, as shown by several pictures taken by her photographer friends in the Casa Azul.
